POSITION SUMMARY

Our Test & Energization Team is looking for field project electronics engineers to plan, direct, and coordinate the overall system and acceptance testing and energization of assigned communication and control projects. You will be responsible for planning projects to meet scheduled energization dates in the most logical, safe and cost effective manner possible; and for review of estimates, project diagrams, scoping meetings, pre/post energization meetings, closing of projects, redline revisions and energization memos. Your work will include performing operational checks on all new or revised equipment to ensure proper operation of the equipment and associated control, for technical direction of lower-graded engineers and technicians during installation, testing, and energization of new and additions to extra high voltage (EHV) facilities and systems for major projects throughout the system; and for the safety of others assigned to the project.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must hold a professional engineering degree or have a combination of education and experience as described in the actual announcement. In addition, desirable candidates must have at least 1 year s experience performing professional electronics engineering tasks designed to provide familiarity with pertinent engineering manuals and procedures and to provide experience in the application of academic theories and basic principles of engineering.

POSITION SUMMARY
As BPA's Hydro Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting with technical analyses on issues pertaining to BPA s responsibilities related to the hydraulic operation of the Federal Columbia River Power System (FCRPS) consistent with a myriad of operating, fishery and Treaty agreements. You will assist in planning for seasonal operations of the FCRPS, the Pacific Northwest power system and the interaction with the Canadian system, specifically including:
- The evaluation of routine power system issues required for contract negotiations, operation of the FCRPS and implementing Treaty Operating Plans;
- The development of operating strategies consistent with Treaty and Pacific Northwest Coordination Agreement (PNCA) provisions and non-power system constraints;
- The development of strategies for the economic operation of the power system;
- Preparation of data submittals related to the PNCA;
- Resolution of operational problems, loads and resources, reservoir refill, interchange and in-lieu energy issues related to the PNCA;
- The estimation of future firm power capability and the timing and availability of non-firm power and the evaluation of the effects of proposed load, resource and Endangered Species operating requirement changes on power system capabilities and reservoir operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled with either an engineer or physical scientist. Applicants must hold a professional degree in hydraulic, civil, mechanical or electrical engineering or physical science.
