Phase Meterman. Position will perform the following duties and any other
duties assigned by supervisor.
- Tests, calibrates and repairs kWh meters.
- Tests CTs (current transformers) and PTs (potential transformers for
accuracy.
- Performs single and three phase voltage and current checks on system.
- Maintains records of meter tests.
- Prepares monthly reports of meters tested.
- Test water heaters.
- Read commercial meters monthly.
- Perform substation metering inspections and write reports to be submitted to Supervisor of Metering.
- Perform duties of meter reader and order worker when directed by supervisor.
- Install and program metering equipment for residential, commercial and industrial consumers.

- Answer telephone during power outages as required.
- Be available for after hours problem repairs, outages and scheduled work which would include working the fair share of all necessary overtime.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification in watt-hour metering (usually obtained from a correspondence school and requiring two years to complete) is mandatory. Four years prior experience required. Approximately 50% of this position is performed outside in varying weather conditions. The other 50% is performed in a normal office environment.
