The 2025 Draft Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) open houses originally scheduled by TVA for Murphy, NC, and Bristol, VA, were postponed due to the impacts of Hurricane Helene on surrounding communities. TVA announced today that the sessions have been rescheduled, and the public comment period has been extended to ensure continued stakeholder participation.

The Murphy, N.C., session will now take place on December 3 at Tri-County Community College, and the Bristol, Va., session will follow on December 5 at Virginia High School. To accommodate these new dates, the public comment period has been extended to December 11, giving stakeholders additional time to provide input.

The IRP website has been updated with the new open house dates and the revised comment period. Stakeholder engagement and public input are critical to shaping an effective IRP process. TVPPA encourages each of its member systems to offer input either in writing or during one of the public meetings.

Rescheduled Open Houses:

  • Murphy, NC: December 3, Tri-County Community College
  • Bristol, VA: December 5, Virginia High School
