Kirk

Fortune

Tony Kirk, the vice president and CFO at Bolivar, Tenn., EA for the past decade, is scheduled to succeed retiring president & CEO Johnny Fortune at year’s end.

With his retirement, Fortune closes the book on a career of nearly 41 years at Bolivar EA, including more than 30 of those as its chief executive. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee.

“Tony’s ready to take this on,” Fortune said of his successor. “He’s been here a long time and done a little bit of everything, from line work to HR.”

Kirk earned an undergraduate degree in accounting from Union University and has served for the past decade as the utility’s vice president and CFO. He’s spent his entire 35-year career at Bolivar EA, having signed on as an apprentice lineman in 1984.

“I’m excited about this opportunity,” Kirk said, “but those will be big shoes to fill when Johnny leaves.”
