Southwest Tennesse Electric Membership Corporation (STEMC) is seeking a Meterman. This position is being posted internally and externally. The Meterman will provide accurate metering service to the membership by rendering prompt, efficient, and reliable meter testing, repairing, and installation. Promotes reliable power delivery to members through the installation and maintenance of substation, line protection, and regulation equipment. Installs, tests, programs, maintains, and repairs metering equipment including but not limited to advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), meters and their bases, primary and secondary potential and current transformers, and all associated wiring. Installs, tests, maintains, and repairs substation and distribution equipment including but not limited to substation power transformers, DC supply equipment, high and medium voltage switches, voltage regulators, transmission and distribution circuit breakers, line sectionalizers, reclosers and their attendant control and relay protection schemes. Must have a working knowledge of all related work rules, company policies, and safety practices.
Qualifications and Education Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license. Must obtain a Class A Commercial Driver License within 1-year of employment. General computer literacy, e-mail, word-processing, spreadsheet, and mapping software. Preferred skills and experience: Electrician or utility experience and experience working with high voltage.
