On September 27, 2024 TVA released its draft Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) and a draft Environmental Impact Study. The initial draft IRP was created following intensive input from a diverse group of stakeholders representing a wide variety of perspectives. Over recent months, TVA expanded on the plan to include potential scenarios related to future growth and environmental regulations.
TVPPA Members Encouraged to Attend IRP Open House Events
TVPPA has represented our member interests throughout the initial stages of this effort. In order to align priorities and resources, TVPPA encourages member LPCs to engage with TVA’s feedback process and share the unique needs of your system and your community. TVA has enacted a framework that ensures all stakeholders can participate and offer their insights during a series of 10 in-person IRP Open Houses plus two virtual webinars between October 21 and November 22.
Local power company representatives can offer their insights on TVA’s path forward by submitting written comments or speaking at these events.
TVPPA plans to attend as many of these sessions as feasible, and we welcome the opportunity to coordinate public comments with member systems.
