Hitting mailboxes the first week of December, the Winter edition of TVPPA Magazine explores how local power

companies and TVPPA have used groundbreaking, creative approaches to solve problems and heighten their level of service.

The Innovation Issue shares the story of how North Alabama EC helped bring gig-speed Internet access to Jackson County, Ala. and enabled an economic renaissance in the rural community. It also spotlights how Clinton Utilities Board and other local power companies (LPCs) are tackling load management challenges.

A special Seven States Power section looks at how Seven States Power helps local power companies achieve their solar generation goals, explores how local power companies are helping expand the infrastructure needed for electric vehicle adoption in the Valley, and celebrates the launch of the Valley’s first flexibility project – a joint project between Huntsville Utilities and the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Ala. There’s also a Q&A with TVPPA’s new board chair, Wes Kelley, CEO of Huntsville Utilities.

Wrapping up a year in which TVPPA Magazine has looked at the role LPCs play in economic development; explored the role of resilience in building strong organizations; and shared the myriad ways LPCs have supported their communities, the final issue of the year offers inspiration for addressing challenges many TVPPA members face and shows how creative approaches and the power of partnerships can lead to new business opportunities.
