TVPPA’s R&D Committee developed a Health Epidemic Manual for members to use when a potential health crisis strikes. COVID-19 was not a consideration when the planning template was developed in 2010, but the manual addresses a variety of viruses and other communicable illnesses that pose a threat to effective service to consumers in the Tennessee Valley.
TVPPA’s Health Epidemic Manual, which allows the manager of a utility or company to visualize their priorities related to exposure and critical functions, is structured to fit any size or composition of utility – municipal or cooperative – and can be broken down into departmental emergency response plans. The planning template is designed to be a supplement to the TVPPA Emergency Plan, but may also serve as a standalone response plan.
