This year’s virtual Valley Rally, scheduled for June 15-17, highlights the resilient approach of TVPPA and its member organizations. As developments around the COVID-19 pandemic made it clear that travel to Washington, D.C. would not be an option, the TVPPA staff and lobbying partner Meguire Whitney, LLC began to transform and adapt the approach to this annual event which is focused on facilitating critical conversations that directly impact the business of TVPPA members and TVA.

TVPPA’s utilization of video conferencing technology will optimize the virtual experience for members by maximizing participants’ time and allowing the group to meet with staffers from multiple Congressional offices at one time. Discussion topics include privatization, TVA’s long-term partnership agreement, and the impacts of COVID-19.

“With so many events canceled this year, we are pleased to have found a way to continue our relationship building in Washington, D.C., and to have important conversations about public power issues specific to the Valley,” said Executive Vice President for Member Services & Strategic Relations Danette Scudder. “We appreciate all of the hard work of the Government Relations Advisory Group in helping prepare for this year’s event, and we look forward to the possibility of meeting back on The Hill next year.”

All of TVPPA’s seven member districts are represented, but members who wish to participate can still join in the virtual meetings by contacting Danette Scudder at dscudder@tvppa.com.
