You Power Us

Since 1946, the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association (TVPPA) has united the voices of the 153 local power providers that serve more than 10 million people across the seven-state Tennessee Valley region. We are dedicated to supporting member systems — municipal utilities and electric cooperatives — through advocacy on key issues and providing nationally recognized education and training, conferences, and opportunities to share ideas as we collaborate to address common challenges.

Our impact extends outside the Valley into 15 additional states where our nationally recognized education and training programs are helping build an increasingly skilled workforce, and our strategic consulting services enable power providers to build a brighter future for their communities and themselves.

Powering Possibilities Through Research and Development

Together with TVA, EPRI and interested vendors, our R&D Committee identifies areas of need and members host pilot projects for the benefit of the Valley.

A Team Built to Serve

Our friendly and highly skilled subject matter experts are dedicated to enhancing your membership experience and your business success.

Member Driven

TVPPA is powered by dedicated members who share their professional expertise and passion for the electric power industry. Our member board of directors and our member-led and member-driven committees and advisory groups are comprised of nominees from each of the Tennessee Valley’s seven district manager associations.

Board of Directors

TVPPA’s 19-member board of directors is comprised of Regular members, including one cooperative and one municipal system representative from each of the 7 Valley districts, as well as 5 at-large representatives.

Committees & Advisory Groups

The backbone of our association is its committee structure. Key volunteer committees provide the vital working link between the association staff and members.

Tennessee Valley Districts

There are 7 District Associations, regional groups of local power company leaders, across the Tennessee Valley. They formed TVPPA in 1946.
